The client

Lilyanna Marie is a musician and creator based in the Fort Worth area. She needed an online home that could represent her as an artist rather than function as another social-media profile.

The site had to bring her music, visual identity, media and ways to connect into one branded destination she could keep building as her career develops.

The challenge

Artists build audiences across platforms, but those platforms do not give the artist a single digital property they actually control. An algorithm change or a policy shift can cost an audience that took years to build.

The challenge was to create a website that felt genuinely connected to Lilyanna Marie’s identity and music while staying polished, responsive and flexible enough to support future growth — including a foundation for merchandise later, without forcing that into the initial launch before it was ready.

Architecture decision

Built around releases, not around pages.

An artist site has an unusual property: the most important content changes constantly. The newest release and the next show matter more than anything else on the site, and they change every few weeks.

So the architecture puts the latest release and the next show right at the top — above even the artist’s name in the reading order — and gives music, shows, media and contact their own destinations underneath.

Merch is present in the structure from day one, so adding a store later is an extension rather than a rebuild.

Creative direction

Loud on purpose.

The visual direction is built on a near-black stage, hard scarlet accents and violet light, with oversized condensed type used at a scale most business websites would never attempt.

That is the correct decision here. A musician’s site is competing with album artwork and stage lighting for attention, not with other contractors. Restraint would have read as timidity. A scrolling ticker of release and show information runs across the page as a recurring motif, borrowed from the visual language of live music rather than from web design.
